Rebeca as a person

The best way to know yourself is sometimes by observing others and picking out what you identify with and what you don’t. So here is a bit about me:

I’m spontaneous

I galvanise enthusiasm about all to do with nutrition, sustainability, travelling… And many more you'll pick up on the later section of my Midnight Thoughts.

I'm a nerd

I'm a freak about switching off the lights to save energy

What relaxes me is having me time with a pen on a paper, whether that is to write or draw

I'm random

Having and expressing midnight thoughts is now part of me. I know that sleeping is crucial, but when the world goes to sleep, my neurons kindle a flame of inspiration about whatever has been on my mind that day or week

Not everything is nutrition, hence why here I talk about life too

I'm sceptical about published science, reason why I always value references (yes, they are a pain, but they're also crucial in life, after university I've somehow managed to appreciate them)

The Midnight Gut Philosophy

Back in 2023, I found myself awake at midnight with a mind that wouldn’t stop churning. I needed an outlet, and you can’t always refer to friends and family for everything in your mind, hence why I started recording my thoughts on life, love, friends, countries, learnings from podcasts, food science and nutrition, and a myriad of other topics. My philosophy is built on the belief that to heal the gut, we must acknowledge every facet of life: the peaks and troughs, the relationships with oneself, friends, family, partners and of course, food. To take a holistic approach rather than focussing on the latter, and that way unravel whatever might be affecting your gut. Here is a collection of the reflections captured so far:

  1. Intro to me
  2. Why I’m joining the Instagram influencers
  3. Finland
  4. social eating
  5. flying away, a recipe to spark your flame again
